Power Bear – Bear Sculpting Competitions in Ilomantsi between 10 and 12 August 2023

In the year 2023 there will be two Bear Sculpting competitions. The theme for both competitions is Power Bear.

The Bear Sculpting Championships
will be held on Thursday and Friday, 10th and 11th of August 2023 at the Bear Forest, the forest between Kansallistalo and Katri Vala Cultural Center. On Thursday, the competition runs from 12am until 7pm, and on Friday, from 9am until 4pm. A maximum of 25 sculptors will be entered in the competition in the order of the receipt of applications and calls by the organizers.

The Speed Sculpting Competition
will be held at the Bear Arena in Katri Vala Cultural Centre on Saturday 12 August 2023 from 11 am – 12:30 pm. The competitors will be allowed to cut and debark their block of timber before the competition, between 10:30 and 11 am. A maximum of 25 sculptors will be entered in the competition in the order of the receipt of applications.
