Hidden Worlds – Insiders/Outsiders

16.10.–12.11.2026
Tischenko Gallery, Fredrikinkatu 64, Helsinki, Finland

Open Tue–Fri 14–18, Sat 12–16

The exhibition Hidden Worlds – Inside/Outsiders celebrates the light-bearers of esoteric and mystical art: kindred spirits, artists and their hard work in art and spirituality despite all the difficulties and opposition.

Differences in both the art world and spirituality lead us to the borderlands, to flourish alongside them as disappearing and rediscoverable worlds.

Drawings, paintings, music and songs have been created spontaneously and flowing without sketching as a connection has been formed with higher powers, other consciousnesses and spirit guides.

In their art, they are free and have been gifted with faith in humans. They are strongly guided by inner experiences, secret doctrines, messages and visions that transcend everyday reality and go beyond consensus.

The exhibition is a small selection of the rich cultural heritage of Western esoteric art from the 1940s to the present day, curated from a private collection.

Artists in the exhibition: Aleksandra Ionowa (1899–1980, FI), K. Tschährä (1975–, FI), Madge Gill (1882–1961, GB), Julia Oak (1957–2025, GB), Clara Schuff (1893–1987, DE/US), Viktor Emanuel Bickel (1928–2018, DE), Narciso Bressanello (1915–2001, IT)

The exhibition is dedicated to Selma Mäkelä.
