Dork Park

Häme, Southern Finland, Whenever, Art park, Public sculpture group

In the historical railway park, local ITE artist Vesa Väänänen’s playful recycled metal works have been delighting visitors of all ages for years. The maintenance of the park unfortunately fell behind and some of the works fell into disrepair. The older ones from the pictures on this page are from the time when the park was still a representative destination.

In autumn 2024, the park’s works have been transferred to Joutsa, to Haihatus Art Center, where Väänänen’s works have already been exhibited.

However, Väänänen’s works can still be found in his hometown of Heinola. The village association of the village of Heinola has put them together as a memorial exhibition in the yard and café of the village house Kyläpirtti.
