In Loimaa, in the village of Metsämaa, there is a communal monument, the Field Stone Pyramid. It consists of stones brought by people with a story. The story of all the stones is not known, but the organizers’ goal is to capture as many as possible. The farthest stones have been brought to the pyramid from other continents. You can bring storytelling stones to the field stone pyramid in all seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pyramid Picnic<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Once in the summer, the Pyramid Picnic of Metsämaa village is held by the monument. The event is suitable for all ages, and the entrance fee is a stone and its story. The stones will be delivered to the Pyramid in a festive procession at the beginning of the event. The programme of the event includes music, art experiences, various performances – and food. The event is funded by donations and grants, and its purpose is to serve as a cultural event that increases the sense of community in rural areas. The event is organized by the Pyramid Picnic Friends Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event area is located in the yard of Metsämaa’s Kalliohovi and Metsämaa schools, and the Field Stone Pyramid is located in the adjacent grassy area. There is also the Vekarakallio playground next door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
